The Egyptian Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that a man who was riding in a car opened fire on 8 citizens and wounded 5 at a taxi stand, resulting in casualties, before the police pursued him after he fled to a piece of agricultural land, where an exchange of fire took place that ended in his death.

ذكرت وزارة الداخلية المصرية في بيان، أن رجلاً كان يستقل سيارة أطلق النار على 8 المواطنين وأصاب 5 في موقف لسيارات الأجرة، ما أسفر عن سقوط الضحايا، قبل أن تلاحقه الشرطة إثر هروبه إلى قطعة أرض زراعية، حيث وقع تبادل لإطلاق النار انتهى بمقتله.
