FAO: Global food prices are at the highest level in the last 3 years due to energy and geopolitical pressure

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) said that in April, global food prices increased for the third consecutive month, the highest in the last 38 months, due to rising energy costs, geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and the sharp rise in vegetable oil prices.
