Disengagement from the Strait of Hormuz - Iraq draws up strategic alternatives to export its oil

In light of regional unrest threatening energy export routes, Iraq is presenting the “Basra-Haditha-Multi-Directional” pipeline project as a strategic bet to secure oil exports, diversify their routes, and reduce dependence on sensitive corridors, most notably the Strait of Hormuz.
