US Central Command said it "conducted self-defence strikes in southern Iran" on May 25. This comes more than a month after a ceasefire between the countries took hold and amid ongoing peace negotiations in Qatar. Still, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio maintained a deal can be reached within days.
