Israel's ruling coalition on Wednesday submitted a proposal to dissolve parliament to pave the way for early elections. The move, initiated by Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party, came as Netanyahu appeared to be facing a possible collapse of his fractious coalition, amid mounting pressure from the ultra-Orthodox parties. If the proposal is accepted, elections in Israel could then be held as early as the third week of August, around 2 months ahead of the October 27th deadline.
